The Greater Rochester Area will host an estimated 300,000 visitors as the region celebrates being in the path of totality for the total solar eclipse. This rare celestial experience happened locally in 1925 and, after this one, will not occur again until 2144!
The museum will be open on Monday, April 8 for Focus, Click, Totality!, a special event celebrating the sun and moon, and showcasing the historic gardens and grounds as a viewing area for this once-in-a-lifetime event.
Admission to Focus, Click, Totality! includes admission to the museum, all activities, access to the viewing area in the gardens, eclipse glasses, and the 4 p.m. film screening of STAR TREK IV: THE VOYAGE HOME (1986). Admission does not include parking. Tickets are non-refundable and must be purchased in advance.
Side street parking is extremely limited with an array of eclipse activities also planned at the Rochester Museum & Science Center and the Memorial Art Gallery. A limited number of parking spaces are available at the museum for those who purchase a $100 parking pass (not including admission). Park at GEM and explore all of the other festivities within walking distance.
